About QueeResilience

In a digital world where young people are more connected than ever, LGBTQ+ youth face unique challenges and opportunities. The QueeResilience project addresses the crucial intersection of digital media, mental health, and LGBTQ+ identities, working to create supportive online environments and empower young people to build resilience in the face of digital stressors.

Context

LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionately affected by online hate, cyberbullying, and disinformation. Yet, digital platforms also offer vital spaces for community-building, emotional expression, and self-empowerment. QueeResilience recognizes this dual reality and seeks to equip youth workers and young LGBTQ+ individuals with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to thrive digitally.

Our Goals:

  • Raise awareness of the mental health implications of digital media among LGBTQ+ youth and those working with them.
  • Develop practical tools and strategies for youth workers to support young people facing digital challenges.
  • Empower LGBTQ+ youth to use digital spaces for self-expression, advocacy, and wellbeing.
  • Foster allyship among all young people to create safer, more inclusive online environments.

Key Activities:

  • Creating a comprehensive Guidebook on digital wellbeing for youth workers.
  • Designing a series of Workshop Modules on digital minority stress, mental health, and advocacy.
  • Launching a pan-European, co-created Social Media Campaign amplifying LGBTQ+ youth voices.
  • Offering open-access resources and training materials for use across Europe.
